Testspace Leeds

Crash records is getting on a bit and there are events going on throughout june to mark this. It includes gallery and retail spaces along with music and so on.

I emailed with a link to my website and they got back in touch asking about my panopticism posters. My slot is 10th-12th june and i have taken down a selection of DIY zines and badges for sale along with edition 1-5 of each of my panoptic prints.

I plan to produce a folded sheet version of my panoptic booklet as an easy means of having all the information to hand. I can also take down anything else i would like to put up for sale.

Quick idea for end of year show.

A zine or booklet of everyone's business card, in business card format.

Just thought it would be an interesting idea, i'm not sure how people would react tho - i mean if people can pick up a booklet of everyone's cards would they pick up individual cards too?

Will discuss with anyone interested soon.

Its alive! I had to get Mcgow to sort out my style sheet because i am useless. I'm really happy with how its come out though. Simple and clean with a little bit of branding (this seems to be in the form of courier and black boxes).

I have included my dissertation quotes type posters, all on corrugated cardboard. I had a variety of stocks but i think the brown is a relevant stock choice to put on my website.

Panoptic posters! I am really happy with the photos of these and they're over all outcome. It was fun to use more than just black and red in their production as well.

Right. These photos are rubbish. I will take new ones. I need to try and find all the t-shirts. I think there are some in durham. Slightly disorganised, but this doesnt look professional at all. I might even take them down for the moment.

Again, i could do with better photos of my lokimazine. They're small and have that weird background i liked for a while. Doesn't look very professional though. I'm thinking of taking photos of every double page spread.

Links to music and friends!

Screen printed business card!

Ah yes. I decided that my train ticket business card, although a nice idea, weren't upto date enough and were perhaps a little too lo-fi. There was no blurring of the line between lo-fi and clinical.SOOOoooo... I pinched some pulp board that Print Room James would have thrown away (it comes in the boxes of printer paper) and screen printed onto them. I see this as a clinical layout with a lo-fi production. I am really happy with them, I gave some out and left a few by my piece in the P.S. I Love You exhibition. Aint heard nuthin' yet.

Art In Unusual Spaces?

Art In Unusual Spaces is a partnership between independent curators, landlords, artists and businesses throughout the city and Leeds City Council. It is an ongoing initiative utilising units across the city as they become temporarily vacant.

It is through this that i discovered black dogs collective in Leeds.

Exhibition!

The Beatles exhibition I am exhibiting in, entitled "P.S. I Love You" opened last night at Bradford Playhouse. It was pretty fine arty to be honest. There was some pretty sweet infographics there that was a bit mind boggling though. Most of it was Illustrationy and a bit more "subtle" to the eye. It was hard to understand some of it as well, but no matter!

Overall shot of the exhibition space. Notice the TV - there were about 6 video pieces i think. Interesting stuff!

This was my little corner with a pretty girl in it. Initially i wasn't sure about the sofas - it looks like a living room or a coffee shop - but overall i think it worked quite well. it gave me somewhere to sit and read the zine as well.

Look how perfect this alcove is for my work. I cant believe how lucky i was to have it all fit so well.

I think the lights made the spray mount de-stick or something. it got a little crinkly round the edges and it was coming away from the foam board i had decided to mount the pieces on.

Phwoaarrr, the colours look awesome. I am very happy with this stuff. It was interesting seeing people peering at the work as well.

P.S. I Love You

Exhibition i'm taking part in at Bradford Playhouse!

I am in the zine, but also the exhibition. I couldn't highlight both appearances of my name.
